The City of Warren Department of Parks and Recreation's Warren Civic Theatre and Open Door Productions invites you to OPEN AUDITIONS for their huge summer musical,

Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS.

Director: Greg Trzaskoma
Music Director: Nic Charland
Choreographer: Deirdre Venturella with Susan Ruth
Assistant Director: Joe Colosi
Stage Manager: Andy Zulkiewski

As ever, we're committed to a policy of open casting. Adults, children, ANYONE who wants to be in the show will be given a role. Those not yet able to read must have a responsible adult in the show with them.

Don't let your visions of the Broadway production's costumes scare you away from trying out. We'll be creating our own cat "look" for this show and adapting choreography to suit our casts strengths.

Preliminary auditions will be held during the week of May 13 at the Warren Community Center. Parents of youths and young adults should attend the auditions for info and behind the scenes opportunities. We need help with scenery, costumes, publicity, fundraising, and more...

Rehearsals will be held Mondays and Wednesdays through June and July at the Warren Community Center. Youths will rehearse from 7pm to 8:30pm to start, then stay progressively later as the show approaches. Adults rehearse from 7pm to 10pm.

Performances will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, August 1-10 in the Warren Consolidated Schools Performing Arts Center located on 15 Mile Road just West of Schoenherr.

After the preliminary auditions, you may be asked to Callback Auditions. Please be available for the Callback Auditions which will be held on Saturday, May 17 from Noon to 6pm.

Those wishing to be considered for a solo singing role should be prepared to sing a song which we will teach them.

Experienced and trained dancers should also schedule a separate dance audition. Dress in comfortable clothes and shoes you can dance in...

CALL 586.268.8400 to schedule your audition appointment.

Back by popular demand, the 2008 "Dearborn Stars" talent competition will again seek out the area's best talent. The second annual talent contest, which features various abilities at all ages, is scheduled to take place on July 16th at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. Finalists of the July contest will perform at the Dearborn Homecoming on August 2nd, followed by the presentation of the awards.

Dearborn residents, full-time students in Dearborn and full-time employees of Dearborn businesses can participate in one of six categories: 8-10 (Petite), 11-13 (Junior), 14-16 (Teen), 17-20 (Miss/Mr.), 21-49 (Adult) and 50 & up (seniors).

Talent routines are not only limited to singing or dancing — participants can showcase any kind of talent, including magic acts, gymnastics, artistic demonstration, juggling, musical performances or stand-up comedy.

The winners will receive the honorary title of "Dearborn Star," as well as a cash prize, a trophy and various performance opportunities throughout the year. Last year's talent winners were involved in the Veteran's Day ceremonies, Relay for Life, holiday events at the Henry Ford Estate and will participate in this year's Memorial Day Parade.

The MyGuild website is a place where Players Guild of Dearborn members can read and post information for others to read.  As mass emails begin to clutter electronic mailboxes and spam grows rampant, MyGuild is a way to still get out a message while protecting the privacy of our members in the process.

 Currently, the MyGuild website includes:

  • An updated, electronic 2007-2008 Membership Roster.
  • The Players Guild of Deaborn, Inc. Bylaws

  • Member biographies
  • A way to submit information to share with other Guild members
  • A way to submit a website link that others might be interested in.
